
Global Supply Chain Group, a supply chain strategy consulting organization headquartered in Sydney is sponsoring the coveted ‘Green Supply Chain Award’ at the Supply Chain Asia Logistics Awards 2008 (see http://www.supplychainasia.com/sponsors/ for more details). On behalf of the Global Supply Chain Group, the award will be presented by Mr. Vivek Sood, the man credited with co-creating the terminology and methodology of Green Supply Chain Management, and the Managing Director of Global Supply Chain Group.
Governments and industry organizations around the globe have started to issue directives on how to minimize the environmental impact of supply chain and logistics processes; and consumers in many countries are becoming more conscious of purchasing products that have been produced and delivered under certain environmental standards.

The Green Supply Chain Award is aimed at rewarding organisations that have foreseen this trend and are making genuine efforts to minimize the environmental impact of their supply chain processes.

There were 5 finalists in the category: all
large multi-nationals. The judges are deciding the winner soon, and the winner
will be revealed on the night of the awards in November 2008 at Marriott Hotel in Shanghai.
